Why did I become a developer?

Because I like to help people and companies create solutions using my code. Creating apps, websites, applications as a service, and systems, and I can do it anywhere.

I've been working as a developer for 29 years and have lots of software development experience.

In Brazil, Portugal, and the United States, in many different companies, including big and small.

Question:

Have you consider yourself become a developer?

I started learning programming when I was 14 years old and now I'm 43 years old. I couldn't imagine how far I could go when I was learning and creating my first app, website and system. I sold my first app when I was 15 and the software helped me to get more clients.

When I was 22 years old, I started teaching at the University of Brazil. I was a teacher of programming and I was very happy with the results. The students were getting theirs first job in the field of software development and helping their families.

I was a Mobile and .NET Architect in Brazil and at night a University Teacher. I moved to Europe, and there I worked as a .NET Senior Developer. It was a very interesting experience.

I moved to the United States and I worked as a .NET Analyst Developer. I was very happy with the results, and I was able to get a job in the field of software development.

I finished a computer science degree, an MBA in Indexation, an MBA in Teaching, and a Master’s degree in Software Engineering. I've been studying Biotechnology for my doctorate, but I haven't finished yet 🫣.

Same code

Good opportunity

In Brazil, Portugal, or the United States, I've been using the same experience and knowledge that I learned before, and making improvements because my life never stops.

I am able to do the same as I if I study law, accounting, or nursing? Probably not because in different countries, they have different laws and regulations. I should go to school and study again.

As a developer, I can do my work and apply my knowledge anywhere without problems because I'm using the same. This is a good opportunity to learn software engineer.

You can start with programming logic, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript. After that, you can start with .NET Framework, C#, and a database.

In my experience over the years, companies want to have specialist people who can learn and know more about the business of company. My boss told me: - We don't want a generic developer, we need someone who can fix the issue for us because they know about the system and the business.

It is very important to bring value to the company that I am working for, and it is important to show it to your boss, bringing ideas and improvements to the company.

Sometimes I had to do stuff that I don't like much but it is part of the job. With this, You can get lots of opportunities to improve your skills.

I have been using the .NET framework for 15 years, and I am using it for almost all my projects. I am using Swift to create mobile apps on the App Store and .NET to create Android apps. The backend I am using C#, and for the frontend I am using lots of technologies like HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, ASP.NET Razor, ASP.NET MVC, Windows Forms, XAML, Xamarin, ASP, TypeScript, and more.

It is important to say that I've been learning all technologies during the process. In my University, I didn't learn all technologies, but I was interested to learn new technologies.

Learn is part of the process

Programming Logic

You need to learn to think like a developer. About logic, variables, constants, loops, functions, classes, objects, inheritance, polymorphism, data structures, algorithms, types of data, operations, and more. More than 1.000 students took the course and they changed their lives.

Basic computing

Nowadays, people can't use computers or basic computing because they are using just phones. It is a good thing, but at the same time, it is bad because it is not enough. You need to learn how to use a computer and how to use basic computing.

You need to use files, folders, navigation, search, different tools, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel and more.

HTML5, CSS and JavaScript

HTML 5 is the markup language that brings the web to life. With my course, you will learn the skills needed to create amazing and customized websites.

- How to structure an HTML 5 document
- How to add text, images and links to your pages
- How to create tables and forms
- and more...

Keeping learning

Without education you can't go far 😅
